A shared story and image for Rabobank Radical Automation

"But what do you guys actually do?" A simple question with a difficult answer for many of the teams. Teams working on complex issues are so specialised that few outsiders really understand what they do.

The challenge

The challenge for these teams is to tell their own story in an engaging way, without making it too simple or complicated. In recent years, we have been able to help many teams to help tell their stories. Here, our combination of visual thinking and design thinking proves very effective in creating catchy visual stories that get an audience along while connecting a team to a shared story.

The solution

Rabobank’s Radical Automation department approached us to create a shared story and image based on their vision, mission and product portfolio. Although we tailor each project to the context of the organisation, the process in which we worked with the different teams within Radical Automation gives a good insight into our approach to this type of case.

Activities:

  • Clarity workshop with the leadership team to create overview and alignment
  • Test sessions with customers to validate the story
  • Storytelling co-creation sessions with the teams
  • Validation and iteration with the teams
  • Design of the visual assets (poster, animation, Radical Automation toolkit)
  • Launch event

Result

By the end of the project, Rabobank’s Radical Automation story has truly become the story of all the teams and all members of the teams carry the story with pride and confidence.

During the launch event, the head of the department unveiled the final story. The entire team received the various visual tools and practised the pitch associated with their new story and visuals. The pitches immediately showed that the teams were able to tell the story with confidence to the stakeholders and customers present. A great conclusion to the project!
